On 10 June the AdVantage Platform organised a seminar in the European Parliament on “e-contentment or e-controversy?”

Speakers were Esther Dyson (journalist and expert on emerging digital technology), Ben Edwards (Economist.com), David Pullan (Isobar Global), Nuria Rodriguez (BEUC) and Alain Heureux (IAB Europe) and supporting MEPs were Holger Krahmer and Sophia in’t Veld.

UBM and Informa merger talks collapse

Discussions between The Board of United Media plc and Informa plc regarding the commercial merits of an all-share merger have now collapsed.

Talks on a merger between the two groups ended after Informa said it had received an approach from a third party, thought to be a private equity bidder or bidders.
