DPA - same acronym, but new meaning

DPA new logo The DPA has today unveiled the new name and look for the association. While the acronym remains the same the association will now be known as the DPA - Data Publishers Association. The change was announced at the DPA’s Annual General Meeting, which took place on Tuesday 7 June at the Millennium Mayfair Hotel, London.

The Directors felt it was appropriate to change the name of the association to reflect the substantial changes in the way many of its members work. It also opens up the potential for attracting new members who have similar interests. The key factor common to all DPA members is that their businesses depend on the use of, and/or the sale of data in clearly defined ways.

Nick Saunders, the newly elected Chairman of the DPA said, “Today’s data publishers operate in a wide variety of markets through a range of business models. However, at their heart they rely on sourcing and using data in producing and providing their products and services. The Board of the DPA recognises that the publishing industry is changing rapidly and that the DPA needs to evolve to match its members’ needs. The new name reflects these changes whilst maintaining a link with the core component of our industry. We are constantly developing our activities and are committed to providing our members with the services that they require.”
